[ I'm Never Doing College Again ]

I am so glad to be done with college. There is not one ounce of my being that wants to redo the awkward does few weeks/months of getting to know each other, googling at the opposite sex, attempting to learn the most complex layout of a college, and all that jazz that comes that.

There is one thing that I'm so thankful for: my lady friends. There are a whole heck of a lot of them missing from this photo but the ladies I met from, around and in college are rock solid. A lot of us have sports in common. I'm closer with some than others. Been through more crap with others. Cried. Laughed. Done some dumb things. Funny things.

I may not want to college again, but I am so thankful for the friendships that have come from it!

Caramel Sauce

I've been trying to find more ways to make things at home from scratch. Not just to save a penny or two, but I also like knowing what's in everything... today, I made my own caramel sauce which works awesome for both lattes & over ice cream with brownies. Both have been tried and both were delicious!

Here's the recipe if you want to try it:

2 cups Brown Sugar
1 cup 1/2 & 1/2
1 stick of butter
Pinch of salt
2 Tablespoons of Vanilla

Mix the brown sugar, 1/2 & 1/2, butter and salt together and warm over a medium-low heat. Stir it frequently until it thickens (this took me 5-7 minutes). Once it thickens, add vanilla and cook for another minute or two until it thickens a bit more.

Turn the heat off and let it cool a bit before you put it in a jar to store. Refrigerate & Enjoy!

** If it separates, just shake before you use it!

[ A Day in the Life ]

A day in life on the farm always includes wearing camo crocks, because they are the only shoes she will choose to put on. All other shoes result in tears and a meltdown. As a mama, I'm learning to choose my battles. Camo shoes? Not worth the battle. Wearing clothes? Worth it. You win some, you lose some.

A day in life includes testing boundaries (you know, like playing on rusty farm equipment!) and always saying hello to her favorite dog, Remington. Abby is as gentle as Remington, so Beckett likes to give Remy kisses and hugs whenever he will sit still long enough to let her.

A day in the life includes exploring around the farm, running to every new spot to check out and going full speed whenever possible. Its been stretching nap times to 2.5+ hours because she just wears herself out completely and this mama is loving it!

A day in life also has to include time with Daddy, which often involves tractors, lawnmowers or wagon rides. It's been awesome seeing these two together as they both love seeing how things work and run. She loves hanging with her daddy!

[ Meet Tieg ]

We have a new farm friend: Tieg (Teeg). She randomly showed up in our shed the other day, chillin' on one of the Hubs' hunting blinds. Her cute little ears perked up as soon as we drove in and she came down to greet us as if she'd been living here for years. She's super small, looked a little malnourished, but was the friendliest cat I think I have ever owned!

She and the dogs don't really get a long. Actually, that's an understatement... She looks at Remington and he starts shaking on the spot! She even attacks them if they get inside the radius that she's deemed "Her Safe Space." I kind of feel bad for the dogs, but I am hoping that eventually we will all come to a mutual understanding of being able to co-exist in the same space. For now, she chases then gets chased up a tree for a couple hours. She's may be little, but she is fierce and a great addition to the farm.

So that's our latest little addition, she's great!

[ My Awesome Family ]

Our family is awesome. I know I'm incredibly biased, but let's be honest, who isn't? I love how our family has taken how Jay grew up and how I grew up and it has molded and grown into this beautiful thing we call our family. We've tried to start some of own traditions and done some things different, but I love it.

It's been way too long since I've written, so let's do a quick snapshot of where we are at...

Beckett is 13 months and we got to celebrate her birthday with lots of family and friends last month. We also did her dedication with my parents leading it. It was an awesome time of kids playing, Beckett talking and just doing life together. I could not have imagined a better way to do it!

Some of Beckett's favorites include driving anything and everything with wheels and a steering wheel. Papa's gator is one of her favorites! She hates most food but will always eat ice cream or veggie straws. We read books, lots and lots of books. She will come and find me washing dishes in the kitchen and want to read. So, we read. We sit down on the floor and drop whatever is going on. I love encouraging her to read and spend time with me. She also loves babies and is obsessed with her cousins and FaceTiming family. She loves people!

I'm still staying at home with Miss Beckett, which is awesome that I can do that! I love filling up my days with showing her new things, being outside and seeing her friends. The Hubs is working and loving his job!

I hope to keep this updated more often now! Come back and visit!
