Funerals and Fall Aromas

Has it seriously been a week since I actually wrote anything? Goodness, I apologize to all of those who faithfully checked back here everyday ( I know there are some of you!). I am winding down the first class for my masters. One paper down, one more to go. I am hoping tonight I can crank up the classical music, light a couple candles and pound out a several page paper. We'll see how that goes, when the weekend rolls around, somehow it always has a different idea of how my weekend will turn out.

This weekend is going to be full of food, family and a funeral. One of the Hubs' family members passed away this week. She was 96 and an incredible woman of prayer. She was blessed to not lose her mind to dementia or Alzheimer, resulting in a woman who remembered almost everything, everyone and what was going on. Yet, she faithful remained separated from gossip. She was always informed, but in a way that was building others up in prayer and love. An incredible woman.

I will be taking more funeral pictures this weekend. Sound weird, right? A funeral photographer. Yet, I love it. Weddings seems a bit stressful and rightfully so. It doesn't bode well to make the bride look fat the most specialist day of her entire life. Yet funerals present a neat opportunity. It is a time to remember, a time to reflect. Most people don't notice me and if they do, they just think it's weird. There's no judging where the shot is being taken from. I love it. I love documenting the tribute to an incredible legacy left behind that will be lived out through each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Want your house to smell warm and cozy this fall?

Here's what I did:

Buy a refill for a reed thingy
(help!?! brain fart, what are they called? diffuser?)
I got mine at Target. I got Orange Spice.

Use an old wall scented thing fill it up with the refill oil.
(I am seriously struggling today people!)
You can also mix it with water so
the scent is not as strong,
but it won't last quite as long.

Plug into the wall!
And enjoy the wonderful fall aroma!

So, it's been good. It's been short. But my weekend is upon me and I am going to soak up every moment of this beautiful fall weekend. At least, I am going to soak it up before the rain comes.
